Levette Kelly Johnson

Ms. Johnson is executive director of MSCASA and has twenty-four years in non-profit program administration and implementation of fiscal and programmatic components of local, state, and federal grant programs. She has served as a volunteer rape crisis counselor since 1998. She’s a member of the State STOP Implementation Planning committee.
Since 2010, she has served as project director of the Office on Violence Against Women, Technical Assistance Campus Program to train Victim Services and Advocacy, and Campus Online Resource Clearinghouse. Currently a board member of the National Alliance Ending Sexual Violence. She also served as board president of National Sisters of Color Ending Sexual Assault for 11 years.
Shalotta Sharp

Shalotta Sharp is a Registered Nurse and has 18 years of experience as an emergency department nurse. She is the Special Projects Coordinator for Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault where she is responsible for education and technical assistance to any agency that is involved with victims of Interpersonal Violence. She is a nationally-certified SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) in Adult, Adolescent and Pediatric Patients (SANE-A, SANE-P).
Mrs. Sharp works collaboratively with multiple agencies in MS including the MS Attorney General Office, the Mississippi Crime Lab as well as multiple Law enforcement Agencies in Mississippi. Mrs. Sharp has been qualified as a medical expert in sexual assault, domestic violence and strangulation in multiple Judicial Courts in MS and Federal Court Martials. Mrs. Sharp has also worked performing forensic medical exams via Tele-Medicine through the University of Mississippi Medical Center Children’s Hospital.
Mrs. Sharp is currently a member of the IAFN (International Association of Forensic Nurses) where she served on The Board of Directors, Director at Large; AL Chapter IAFN Director at Large; IAFN Government Affairs Committee; Chair of the IAFN Conference Planning Committee and National Pediatric Protocol Working Group. Mrs. Sharp has been awarded the Jackson Free Press “Hero of the Year Award”, the IAFN “Service Award” and Mississippi Attorney General’s Office “ The Amy Clayton Victim Service Award.”
Melanie Barton

Melanie Barton is the PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) Advocate Coordinator for the Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MSCASA). She obtained her B.S. in Business Administration from Alcorn State University and joined the MSCASA staff in November 2015.
Ms. Barton provides emotional support services to incarcerated survivors of sexual abuse and sexual harassment to survivors in our detention centers throughout the state. She continues to provide training and technical assistance to Corrections Staff and Juvenile Correctional Officers regarding the traumatic effects of sexual abuse in confinement settings.
Ms. Barton has successfully provided a Comprehensive Inmate Education training session for a state facility and continues to work with facilities to ensure PREA compliance for our state. Her work includes supporting sexual assault prevention and education as part of MSCASA’s staff, for all underserved communities of color. Ms. Barton also works with local and rural community (SART’s) Sexual Assault Response Teams throughout the state to address coordinated response to sexual assault.
Dr. Frances Horton-White

Dr. Frances Horton-White is the Campus Victim Services Coordinator with the Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MSCASA). She is a National Technical Assistance (TA) Provider for Victim Services Providers for the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Campus Grant Project Programs where she provides trainings and technical assistance to colleges and universities on issues related to campus sexual violence.
She is certified as a Credentialed Advocate (CA) with the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA), Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor (LPC-S) with the Mississippi State Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors, National Certified Counselor (NCC) with the National Board for Certified Counselors, and Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) with the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC).
A native of Jackson, MS, Dr. White received her Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy from Jackson State University (JSU). She has developed academic and student support programs in her years of teaching as an adjunct faculty, mental health provider, substance abuse counselor, and advocate to support the intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual development of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
Believing in the importance of service and her passion for victims of sexual assault, Dr. White volunteers with the local Rape Crisis Center of Jackson, MS as a Victim Advocate and Crisis Counselor.
